Claustrophobia!

Im really not happy with this shoot, however what came out works when I think about what i was trying to achieve. The harsh light creates a tense atmosphere which makes the viewer uncomfortable like the subject might be feeling. The rope is almost like the road that Dorothy follows in the wizard of Oz, your eyes will follow it to the knot on the hands and ankles, however the knot itself is out of focus, this is because people try to ignore the fact that this kind of thing happens, a feeling of being trapped, claustrophobia or even kidnapping. The light and following the rope causes the attention which is distracted by the lack of focus.

White Rabbit (EP launch) : Violent Virtues

An awesome band; great musicians, guys and talent in what they do. This was their EP launch, CD's are £2 and T-shirts are £5, contact them for details. I definitely recommend going to see them. During this gig they were also shooting a music video which will be available soon. Check their music on their Myspace and check details for their up and coming gig dates on their Facebook. These guys are one of the biggest metal bands in Plymouth at the moment and have the ability to make it big.

Tom Evers-King - Vocals
Josh Bowles - Guitar
Brad "Peanut" Cortes - Guitar
Nick Thom - Bass
Sean McGreevy - Drums

White Rabbit : Bury The Hordes

A great band. Definately making a name for themselves in Plymouth. Great musicans and talented at writing songs. They carry a heavy sound and are very energetic on stage, often making it hard for me to photogragh, especially with Matt the guitarist as i have been hit by him before whilst he is playing and always when he is pitting.

Luke West - Vocals
Tom Reeby - Guitar
Matt Gill - Guitar
Pat Vance - Bass
Martin Allen - Drums

White Rabbit : Transgression

Duffy the bands lead singer was away on holiday for this gig so the guitarist, Jake Parker sang for the gig. He did really well, and this was an awesome second gig for them. The drummers bass skin was broken during the gig by the drummer from Red Mist, they refused to pay for the skin. They weren't the greatest band and I didn't photograph them. Transgression are on their way to making a name for themselves and i wish them all the best for the future, i recommend going to see them!

Matt Duffy - Vocals
Stew Hulley - Guitar
Jake Parker - Guitar
Jack Squire - Bass
James Baxter - Drums

Reflection

I went through phase where I love reflections and everything had to be like a parallel universe with people in the images, however the reflections of people had to be different. Here is a self portrait I took whilst in America.

Eliot Siegel

I was lucky enough to have a workshop with Eliot Siegel, the photographer back in A-levels. These are some shots i found from that day.

Larry Clark! 2

Some more images inspired by Larry Clark. I took these to show the abusive and destructive nature of his work. The subject is my brother and building was abandoned, it has since been knocked down.

The next few images I took whilst drunk in hotel corridor with my brother in America. It seemed like a good idea at the time to take the picture even though security was on its way up the corridor.

Animal Portraits

These pictures were taken a while ago with my dog 'Shamus', a border collie. Sadly he passed away last year.
